Saturday: Virgin drivers are satisfied
Timo Glock is satisfied with his performance in qualifying today, even though the behavior of his car was not as good as on the first day of testing. On Jérôme d'Ambrosio's side, the Belgian didn't execute the perfect lap and finds himself just behind Ricciardo's HRT, but not far from his teammate. JDA is betting on race-oriented settings to gain places tomorrow.
Timo Glock – 20th and 20th:
« Today, the car was more difficult to drive than yesterday. We already had problems with the brakes this morning. I didn’t have enough confidence to push to the limit. Depending on the turns, the rear behaved differently, which made assessment difficult. But my qualifying lap was good, and I’m happy to be ahead of the HRTs. It was a good flawless lap. But I’m convinced that if we had more confidence in the car, we could have pushed more, so we need to look into that and understand why it changed compared to yesterday. »
Jérôme D’Ambrosio – 22nd and 22nd:
« I had a relatively satisfactory qualifying session. I didn’t perform the perfect lap, but it wasn’t a bad one either. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s race because my settings are more oriented towards the race than qualifying, so I hope there’s more to come. It’s a particular circuit with the schedule of qualifying and the race because the reference points gradually change as the light decreases. I hope we can finish with both cars for the team. »
