Saturday: Toro Rosso wishes to confirm in the race

Sebastien Buemi – 10th and 9th:

« I am very happy for the team because they did a fantastic job and I congratulate them and thank them for it. Having both cars in Q3 is great. Now, I hope we can have a good race tomorrow because there are no points for what we did today.

The first race on this circuit promises to be an interesting experience.

It is the teamwork that allowed today’s result, with everyone giving their best since we arrived in India.

Jaime Alguersuari – 15th and 10th:

« I am very happy, especially for the team as we are both in good positions. Sebastien was very fast since yesterday, while I encountered some problems. Today, he did a brilliant lap and we solved my problems overnight, so I was also able to be competitive today.

Tomorrow, we have a good chance of doing well starting from these positions, and it could be useful concerning the championship, especially since our main rivals, Sauber, will start behind us.

The strategy will be important, and if we do things correctly, then maybe we can bring home big points.

The improvement in performance at this point in the season is credited to the work everyone in the team has done to develop the car. I hope to finish in the top eight tomorrow.

Laurent Mekies:

A great performance from the drivers and the team means that today both our cars are in the Top 10 on the grid for the first time since China. It was a complicated task having to deal with a track that was changing significantly from one session to another, combined with the fact that it was a new circuit for us.

Our car is definitely going faster as we approach the end of the season. We were quite satisfied with the progress glimpsed in South Korea, and today’s performance is confirmation that we are working in the right direction. It’s great for everyone at the factory and the wind tunnel who are relentless in developing the car.

Of course, there are no points in qualifying and, although it puts us in a good position for tomorrow’s race, there are uncertainties regarding the track conditions and tire degradation that we will face.

I expect it to be an exciting race for the spectators, with different strategies coming into play and we must hope to make the most of every opportunity and ensure a good result for our first visit to this fantastic circuit.
