Friday: the Williams drivers are at a loss for words
Despite an engine problem occurring on Pastor Maldonado's car at the end of Free Practice 1, both Williams drivers were able to complete their work program and discover the Buddh circuit.
Rubens Barrichello – 15th and 15th:
« It was nice to discover the Buddh circuit today. We obviously encountered dust, like everyone else, and it’s quite normal for a new circuit. We don’t know where we stand at the moment because the track is constantly evolving, but hopefully, we can have a good qualifying session tomorrow. »
Pastor Maldonado – 17th and 16th:
« I would like to thank the mechanics who worked so hard to change the engine in time for this afternoon’s session. The car’s balance seemed OK and I am confident about our race pace.
The tire degradation is not so high but we will need to study the strategy because the hard tires don’t seem to be the best suited to our package.
