Friday: Williams is in the unknown

This first day doesn't allow Williams drivers to say exactly where the FW33 stands compared to the competition. So, we'll need to work hard tomorrow to be best prepared for the qualifying session.

Friday: Williams is in the unknown

Rubens Barrichello – 14th and 13th:

« It was too wet to do more laps this morning and the afternoon wasn’t much better. We tried the slick tires at the end of FP2, but the conditions were still too wet. The track was very slippery, but the tires held up well considering the number of laps we did. In conditions like today, it’s difficult to get a good idea of how we will perform compared to the other teams.

Pastor Maldonado – 12th and 18th:

« The rain cost me a lot of track time today, which is not ideal because I’ve never driven here before. I like the circuit, especially the third sector. It’s a very interesting track with a mix of turns—fast, slow, and medium speed. It makes it very technical, so you need a well-balanced car. We will work hard tonight and tomorrow during Free Practice 3 to be in the best possible shape for qualifying. »
