Friday: Sauber doesn’t like intermediates
Like many drivers, Pérez and Kobayashi didn't run much this morning due to the heavy rains that were falling on the Yeongam circuit in South Korea. The two Sauber drivers made up for it in the afternoon, but the Swiss team's car doesn't work well with the intermediate tires provided by Pirelli. They are hoping for drier weather for the rest of the weekend.
Sergio Pérez – 9th and 16th:
It’s a shame, but we couldn’t do more today. There was simply too much rain and I didn’t do a single lap with dry track tires. For me, it’s not an ideal Friday since I don’t know the circuit. I won’t have much time tomorrow to find the right balance with the car.
Kamui Kobayashi – 6th and 17th:
There was no grip at all. The track itself doesn’t have much grip and on top of that, our car didn’t use the intermediate tires well. Generally, I don’t mind driving in the rain and with the wet tires there was no problem, but then, with the intermediates, I struggled a lot. It seems that this track takes a long time to dry. Anyway, I hope we will have dry conditions tomorrow.
