Gran Turismo 5 celebrates Sebastian Vettel’s title

Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of one of the benchmark car simulation games on home consoles with Gran Turismo, has never hidden his affection for Sebastian Vettel and had announced on Twitter that a surprise would await PlayStation players in case of the German driver’s triumph: « I think we will organize an event if Sebastian Vettel becomes world champion at the Formula One Grand Prix in Suzuka on October 9th. To celebrate his second consecutive world championship title, we will offer Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull X2010 to everyone who logs into Gran Turismo 5 in the week following Vettel’s victory. »

A promise made is a promise kept! Thus, the lucky owners of the game released by Polyphony Digital studios will find a gift voucher to acquire the star prototype of this fifth edition of the Gran Turismo saga, created in collaboration with Red Bull, Adrian Newey, and Sebastian Vettel.

To do this, simply go to the Community tab in the GT Life mode and claim the gift voucher which will only be valid until October 16.

But the studios of Polyphony Digital are not stopping there since an exceptional seasonal event has been put online, with a reward of 5 million credits up for grabs. Owners of Gran Turismo 5 have until October 16 to try to achieve the best time on the Suzuka circuit with the Red Bull X2010 prototype, a challenge whose level has been deliberately lowered to allow everyone to achieve the minimum required time of 1:25.000 to earn the gold medal and the accompanying 5 million credits.

For your information, on his first attempt, Sebastian Vettel had beaten the Suzuka lap record by 20 seconds at the wheel of this virtual prototype.

On his Twitter account, Kazunori Tamauchi wanted to congratulate the top three in the race: « Congratulations Sebastian for your second consecutive world championship title. And congratulations also to Jenson for his first victory at the Japanese Grand Prix. Fernando was also excellent. »
