Jean-Eric Vergne will drive for Toro Rosso at the end of the season
The French driver will participate in the free practice sessions of the Korean, Abu Dhabi, and Brazilian Grand Prix.
Invited on the Eurosport set during the qualifications, Jean-Eric Vergne confirmed that he would drive for the Toro Rosso team during the Friday free practice sessions at the Korean, Abu Dhabi, and Brazilian Grand Prix. However, the French driver will not drive in India to allow the main drivers, Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi, to have as much track time as possible to get familiar with the Buddh circuit.
“I would have a good point of comparison with Buemi or Alguersuari with the idea of gaining experience for next year. We will try to make an impact,” said JEV.
Member of the Red Bull program, Jean-Eric Vergne is eyeing, along with Daniel Ricciardo, a full-time seat at Toro Rosso next season, as he is currently a simulator test driver for Red Bull Racing. But until then, he will attempt to clinch the World Series by Renault 3.5 championship title, which will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona on October 8th and 9th. The Frenchman, recently victorious at the Castellet, is only two points behind the Canadian leader, Robert Wickens.
