The FIA formalizes the 2012 F1 race calendar
The season will feature 20 races around the world. The International Automobile Federation has just confirmed next year's calendar. It will run from mid-March to the end of November!
The FIA has officially announced the 2012 season calendar for the Formula 1 World Championship. No big surprises as next season will feature 20 races and Turkey is indeed losing its Grand Prix.
The season will begin on March 18 in Melbourne, with Australia regaining its position as the opening of the championship instead of Bahrain, which has been pushed back to the end of April, just after China and before the return to Europe, which will take place in Spain.
India, which will host the second Grand Prix in its history, has been rescheduled to the end of October instead of April as initially planned. The organizers were concerned about excessively high temperatures during that time of year.
The return of F1 to the United States will take place on November 18, just before the season finale, which will be held on November 25 in Interlagos.
