Maldonado wants more

Maldonado made a name for himself in Belgium last weekend. First, due to his collision with Lewis Hamilton during the qualifications, but also the next day in the race, in a more positive manner, by scoring the first point of his season and his F1 career.

The Venezuelan driver hopes that this first points finish will be followed by others by the end of the championship. In any case, he does not plan to give up and will continue to fight.

« I will not let up, I am a fighter. Since the beginning of the championship, I have fought and pushed the team to improve the car to do better at every race, » declares the 2010 GP2 Series champion.

« I am very happy because the atmosphere in the team is positive even if the results have not been the best so far. But the only thing that matters now is that we keep fighting and anything can happen in F1. I hope to improve until the end of the season. »

In trouble since the start of the season, particularly in racing, Maldonado never doubted his abilities and remained convinced that he could achieve good results in F1, despite numerous criticisms against him.

« I don’t care about what people say. My team knows who I am. I think everyone knows who I am in F1. I won the G2 championship last year, I dominated the championship, » recalls the Venezuelan.

« This year I have a very solid teammate, which helps me a little. He has experience and I am improving quickly. I have to do my job and as best as possible, that’s what I do. »
