The Fan-F1 Barometer after the Belgian GP

Who would be leading the championship if only the last four Grand Prix counted?

Thanks to his victory on the Toboggan des Ardennes, Sebastian Vettel takes the lead in the Motors Inside consistency barometer. The German is ahead of Fernando Alonso by just one point and leaves his teammate, Mark Webber, 4 points behind.

Despite his race being spoiled by a puncture, Felipe Massa ranks 4th and is ahead of Nico Rosberg, who delivered a strong performance in the Ardennes. Both men maintain an advantage over Lewis Hamilton, who is paying dearly for his retirement, as he could have claimed a better result without his collision with Kamui Kobayashi.

Once again in the points, Adrian secures his position in our rankings with 62 points, ahead of Vitaly Petrov and his teammate, the Scot Paul di Resta. On the occasion of his 20 years in Formula One, Michael Schumacher experiences the joy of reentering the Top 10 of the rankings after a race that saw him climb from 24th to 5th place. The German is ahead of Button who, despite his two consecutive podiums, is still hindered by his two consecutive retirements in Great Britain and Germany. The Briton is tied for 11th with Pastor Maldonado, who scored his first career point in Belgium.

In the Constructors’ Standings, Red Bull still leads ahead of Scuderia Ferrari. Mercedes regains 3rd place thanks to the strong overall results of its drivers, overtaking the surprising Force India, which snatches 4th place from McLaren-Mercedes by a few points, with the British team suffering no fewer than 3 retirements in the last 4 races.

The rest of the rankings are more classic, with Lotus Renault GP ahead of Sauber and Williams. Despite encouraging performance in qualifying, Toro Rosso pays the price for its double Belgian retirement. The small Italian team leads Virgin, HRT, and Team Lotus, which has bounced back in the Ardennes after a series of mechanical problems in recent races.

See you in two weeks, after the Italian Grand Prix, to see how the standings will have changed.
