Jarno Trulli returned to his seat at Team Lotus after leaving his T128 to Karun Chandhok in Germany. The Italian driver was able to test a new power steering that finally gives him satisfaction. Team Lotus also introduced some updates to the rear end. Heikki Kovalainen believes it's a step in the right direction, even though the right setup still needs to be found for this Grand Prix.

Friday: Trulli is finally satisfied with his power steering

Jarno Trulli – 20th and 19th:

« I am very happy today. I want to thank the whole team, everyone at the factory and on the track because they have all been patient with me and worked hard to give me a new power steering and a car that suits me perfectly. As soon as I went out this morning, I felt better than before, so I was able to rebuild my confidence in the car and work on small changes and improvements that helped me find a setup I can work with. It has been a positive day and that’s why I thank everyone in the team. »

Heikki Kovalainen – 19th and 20th:

« It seems that we have made a step forward with the updates we brought to the back of the car, but there is still work to be done to find a balance that suits me. We tried different set-ups today, but I couldn’t find the best solution, but we did a lot of laps, so I’m sure we will find the right direction tomorrow. »
