Friday: Normal day at Force India

Adrian Sutil – 8th and 10th

« I suffered with understeer in the car today in both sessions, so we worked hard to try to remedy it. We played around with several things and found some improvements. The morning program was focused on running with our new floor, and everything seems to be going well with that. The afternoon was more focused on race preparation work and gathering usual tire data with some long runs. »

Paul Di Resta – NC and 12th

« It’s my first time on the entire circuit here at the Nürburgring, so part of the day was dedicated to increasing the pace and building confidence. From the beginning of the session, the car’s balance felt quite stable, especially in high-speed corners. We tried to improve the car’s performance in low-speed corners and worked on braking stability to avoid wheel lock-ups. Otherwise, the car is running well, and that provides us with a good base to work on tonight. »

Nico Hülkenberg – 9th and NC

I appreciated the session, and it was fun to drive a Formula 1 for the first time on the Nurburgring. But it was a dangerous start because I lost the KERS on my first stint, which slightly changed the car’s dynamics. Fortunately, we recovered the KERS for the rest of my stints. One of my goals for the day was to make a comparison with the new floor of Adrian [Sutil]’s car while I was driving with the old version. This provided us with some useful data, then I did my last stint with the new soft development tires, which seemed quite good.
