Friday: Schumacher and Rosberg satisfied with Mercedes’ progress
Although the Mercedes drivers seem satisfied with the new developments brought by the German team, they do not venture any predictions for the rest of the Grand Prix.
Michael Schumacher – 10th and 5th
« I am quite happy with the work we accomplished today, and we are heading in the right direction. We are continuously developing our car, and days like today help us with that.
It’s difficult to make predictions for the rest of the weekend; we don’t know the fuel loads the other cars are carrying, and we still need to look closely at the data we’ve collected.
It was really a nice feeling to drive in the corner that bears my name in a Formula One car. I certainly wouldn’t have imagined that when we inaugurated it.
Nico Rosberg – 7th and 6th
It’s incredible to see how many spectators came to the Nürburgring today for the free practice. I love the atmosphere of the German Grand Prix and I tried to greet the fans, but there’s not enough room for that in the car.
In general, I am happy with our work and progress so far. It seems that the new features work quite well in dry conditions, and I think we have taken a small step forward.
However, on Fridays, we never know where we stand and what others are doing.
