Heidfeld has chosen his helmet for the Nürburgring

At the beginning of July, Nick Heidfeld launched a contest via his website to design an original concept for his helmet for the German Grand Prix. Last week, ten creations were shortlisted, and a photo of each proposal was published on the Lotus Renault GP Facebook account. All that was left was for Nick Heidfeld to make his choice.

« Just like two years ago, it’s very amusing to see all the proposals you made for my helmet. It’s also very satisfying to see that the designs come from all over the world. Most come from Germany, Poland, Russia, and France, but there are also proposals from Kazakhstan, Algeria, Qatar, etc., » the driver was delighted on his official website.

But a winner had to be chosen among the ten finalists, and it was ultimately a Polish design that was selected.

« I have made my decision. The winner is Kamila Mzur from Orly (Poland). The idea with the red and gold gears on a black background is truly unique. See you at the Nürburgring Kamila, congratulations, » indicates the driver.

At the end of the race, the helmet will be given to RTL for an auction by its charitable foundation ‘Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.’ as part of this year’s ‘Spendenmarathon’. Nick strongly supports this charity: “It is important for me to support this initiative in the long term and to contribute something concrete. Thus, this helmet will be auctioned during the ‘Spendenmarathon’ on RTL. Of course, I hope that this sale will benefit RTL foundation’s child aid projects,” the driver stated during the opening of the competition.
