Jean Todt in the July 14 promotion of the Legion of Honour

Jean Todt, president of the International Automobile Federation and former director of Peugeot Talbot Sport and Scuderia Ferrari, has been elevated to the dignity of Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour.

The Frenchman is part of the traditional July 14th honors list, published in the Official Journal on July 13th, which also includes the host and director Pierre Tchernia, the composer Jean-Michel Jarre, the director Claude Lanzmann, the classical singer Mady Mesplé, and the wealthiest person in France, Bernard Arnault.

Jean Todt is, however, the only one, along with the banker Michel David-Weill, to be promoted to the rank of Grand-Croix, one of the highest distinctions of the Order of the Legion of Honor, which can officially have only 75 members.

To note that the Frenchman had already been elevated to the dignity of Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor on February 24, 2007.
