Senna: “Being ready to react”

Bruno, explain to us what work you did on the car for LRGP this year?

I conducted a test in February, in Jerez, for half a day, during which I covered about 600 km. Then I drove the R29 during two days dedicated to young drivers, with a total of around 300 km. I also did a few demonstrations, which involve little mileage and about fifteen minutes each time, but it’s fun. Finally, I drove different cars like the Lotus Evora GT4 for entertainment, but I hardly raced.

Outside of tests and demonstrations, what is your occupation during race weekends?

I try to participate as much as possible in the technical aspects. It’s important for me to be ready to react quickly to everything that happens and what the drivers are doing. I need to be really involved to be able to jump in the car and race if necessary. I also do a lot of public relations for the team and try to make it known that I’m here, both at the circuit and outside.

What is the most interesting aspect of the test driver position?

This year, it has been important for me to learn the technical side. I can do this in a large team like Lotus Renault GP because we have vast technical resources. This is very valuable and I can gain a lot from it, but I don’t want to remain a test driver for too long!

What are your plans for the future?

Try to find the necessary support to run next year. It will be even better if it’s with LRGP!
