Blown diffusers: the end of the saga?

Since the beginning of the weekend, the saga of blown diffusers has been at the center of all discussions in the Silverstone paddock, with regulations constantly changing to the point of creating confusion in the minds of fans, and even drivers, as Mark Webber explained, saying that even the drivers no longer understood what was happening.

This morning, the FOTA met to try to reach an agreement on the subject. The meeting was not fruitful, as two teams, apparently Sauber and Ferrari, did not give their green light for a return to the regulations in force during the European Grand Prix.

The FIA had then given the teams a week to find a solution and put an end to this saga. After the race won by Fernando Alonso, it seems that the case is definitively closed, according to Bernie Ecclestone. The F1’s top financier spoke on the subject to the BBC, announcing that he had persuaded the last team to agree to a reversal.

The International Federation thus obtains the unanimous agreement of the teams to return to the Valencia regulations for the rest of the season, starting from the German Grand Prix in two weeks.
