Saturday: Force India best of the rest thanks to di Resta!
For his first appearance in front of his home crowd driving a Formula One car, Paul di Resta delivers an outstanding performance by finishing 6th at the end of the qualifying session. Adrian Sutil qualifies in 11th position, which ideally places him to aim for points tomorrow.
Paul di Resta – 6th:
« I am really happy with today’s result. Being here for my first British Grand Prix and starting from sixth position is great. The whole team did an excellent job and made sure we went out at the right time. The car performed very well in every session and even on the wet track yesterday we were good. Maybe there was a bit of luck at the end of Q3 when the rain began, but I think in the worst-case scenario I would have finished eighth. Let’s hope we can deliver a good performance tomorrow and come away with a solid result for my home Grand Prix.
Adrian Sutil – 11th:
« I am happy with this qualifying session. It puts us in a good position for tomorrow. It was very close with 4 or 5 positions separated by a few tenths, and I missed Q3 in the final moments. The track conditions were difficult because it was a bit wet at the start of Q2 and the track was constantly improving. We made the right decisions with the tires and did our best with the conditions, so I am happy. I think the weather will be a bit better tomorrow and the goal will be to score points. »
