Friday: Virgin satisfies its pilots
Despite the typically English weather, Timo Glock is satisfied with the performance of his car. Jérôme d'Ambrosio, on the other hand, enjoyed driving in the rain here.
Timo Glock – 21st and 22nd:
We experienced typically English weather today. It was quite damp in the first session even though it dried out towards the end, and I was quite happy with the car. During the second practice session, we waited for better conditions and I went out at the end with my set of morning tires. I just drove around waiting for conditions to improve. My tires were very worn and I experienced a lot of aquaplaning, so I just focused on keeping the car on the track.
Jérôme D’Ambrosio – 23rd and 19th:
« A good day considering the weather, which obviously disrupted our program and limited what we could do to find a good set-up. But for me, it was a good experience to drive a Formula One car in the wet, it’s definitely a good track for that. We are looking forward to tomorrow because the weather should be drier, so we’ll see how it goes. »
