Friday: Barrichello places Williams in the top 10
Williams starts their home weekend well. Rubens Barrichello placed his FW33 in the top ten during both sessions of the day. Pastor Maldonado seemed to struggle more, but the Venezuelan believes that the Grove car is competitive and expects a good qualifying session tomorrow.
Rubens Barrichello – 3rd and 8th:
« It was a humid day, which made us stay in the garage for a good part of the second session. We need to see what the weather has in store for us for the rest of the weekend. We finished in the top 10, which is a good result, but there’s more to do. »
Pastor Maldonado – 14th and 20th:
« It was a difficult day because the track changed a lot and we were between rain tires and intermediates. We had limited running, particularly in the afternoon due to the rain and because we wanted to preserve the intermediates.
We seem competitive and the car seems good so I am optimistic. I’ve spent a lot of time here and I like the track so I am looking forward to the qualifications tomorrow.
