Friday: Optimism is the order of the day at Sauber
Like for most teams, the Swiss team's program was disrupted by the weather conditions but also by Kamui Kobayashi's off-track excursion during Free Practice 1. However, the C30 stood out in the rain, and the drivers expect to shine this weekend.

« Above all, I want to thank the mechanics who repaired my car in time for the second free practice session. When I had my accident, I lost control of the car on wet astro turf. Apart from this accident, I think it is objectively quite difficult to make a judgment on the car, the balance, and the settings, in the conditions we had today. However, our performance on the wet will count for something once the track dries out tomorrow.
We expect more surprises, hopefully better than the ones we had today.
Sergio Perez – 4th and 9th
« Welcome to England! For me, it was a good day even though we couldn’t drive on a dry track at all. We did a bit of work on the new elements, and we’ll only see tomorrow how the car performs on a dry track. Everything will be almost new and different on Saturday.
I am very positive and I expect to have a good qualifying session tomorrow.
