Friday: Toro Rosso hopes for rain

It’s great to be back at Silverstone, which is one of the best circuits, even if the rain is practically unpredictable! We did our utmost during this session by doing quite a few laps on the wet track, even when there was a risk of aquaplaning. I think it was the right thing to do, because if it rains again on Sunday, we would be well prepared. The extreme wet tires and intermediates are working well, and our performance level is quite encouraging for now, but we’ll see what happens tomorrow when it’s supposed to be dry. The team has done a great job, and I can face the rest of the weekend with optimism. We have a new pit lane here, and the entry is a bit bumpy as it is a new part of the track, so we will have to be careful, but in general, the new facilities seem nice.

Jaime Alguersuari – 10th and 17th

I am very satisfied with the way today’s sessions went as we were very fast in wet conditions when everyone was on track. I am pleased with how the car is performing, evaluating several settings on the wet track. From what we saw today, I would like a race in the rain on Sunday, given that I have a very good feeling with the car. I did several laps this morning with the intermediates and generally, we seem competitive with the different types of tires. Regarding the banning of blown diffusers, I honestly can’t say I felt much difference in today’s conditions.
