As we announced to you yesterday (read here about the risks of HRT acquisition), Jose Ramon Carabante has indeed sold the majority of the Hispania Racing team to the Japanese company Nomura, or more precisely to its Spanish subsidiary Thesan Capital, for an amount of approximately 25 million euros.
This sale should coincide with Colin Kolles’ departure from the team, which is expected to retain its name, at least for the time being. It is Carabante’s son who will likely take Kolles’ place at the head of the team.
« The Spanish investment group will lead the development of Hispania Racing in the coming years, while maintaining the current team and managers, who are one of the company’s main assets. The group will try to develop and look for opportunities to optimize and improve the team’s performance in the coming seasons, while strengthening its Spanish identity, » the team indicates.
« Capital Thesan, which views the acquisition of Hispania Racing as an opportunity to enter a sector with great growth prospects, will work with the aim of strengthening the strategic management of the group. »
