Saturday: Slight disappointment for Team Lotus
Team Lotus remains stuck in Q1 during this qualifying session. The gap with the cars ahead is larger than expected, but the team hopes to have a solid race tomorrow.
Heikki Kovalainen – 19th:
« For me, it’s a good performance. I gained a bit of time on my second lap and definitely gave it my all, so even if the gap with the cars in front is not what we would like, I am satisfied to have achieved this goal. »
Translate: « After the tests, we knew that the time difference would be around what it is, and despite the work of the whole team, we were not able to reduce it. »
Jarno Trulli – 20th:
The traffic played an important role in my qualification today. Everywhere I was, there seemed to be someone on the track, so to be honest, I am a bit disappointed. The car was working well and without the traffic, I’m convinced there was more to achieve.
« Now we have to think about tomorrow’s race, and I think we can continue to show that the car’s speed in race configuration is good. I want to make sure to have another good start, and we will see what happens from there. »
Mike Gascoyne:
« A relatively good qualifying session for us. We are a bit further back than hoped but we are well ahead of the cars behind. Tomorrow will be a long and challenging race, and the goal for us is to finish with both cars and see what we can do. »
