Saturday: Team Lotus expects an eventful race
Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen are satisfied with their qualifying session. Both drivers had a good lap and hope to take advantage of the expected rain in tomorrow's race to achieve a good result.
Jarno Trulli – 18th and 19th:
« I am happy with today’s performance. There was a lot of wind and it was a bit colder than yesterday which affected our ability to get the maximum out of the tires, but I think I did the best I could in my last lap. The gap with the guys in front continues to decrease and I think with the rain tomorrow, it will be an eventful race, and hopefully we will be in a position to take advantage of whatever happens. »
Heikki Kovalainen – 19th and 20th:
« A good session for me today. The car was good and the strategy worked well as we wanted, so I think we did what we wanted. Little by little, we continue to improve and I am looking forward to tomorrow’s race, it’s going to be an exciting race and I think we’ve shown that we can fight with the guys in front, so let’s see what will happen. »
Tony Fernandes – Team Principal:
« I am very happy. From my point of view, it is the best qualification of my short career in Formula One because we showed that we did not need other teams to make mistakes or use different tires to finish the session with a small gap to enter Q2 deservedly. It’s a clear sign that the hard work of the team is paying off and that we are slowly getting closer to the midfield. »
