Webber is having trouble adapting to the Pirelli tires

Mark Webber has had a rather disappointing start to the season. While his teammate is consistently taking top positions, the Australian has only made it to the podium twice – in China and Turkey – and is 64 points behind Sebastian Vettel, the solid championship leader.

Webber believes that the Pirelli tires, very different from the 2010 Bridgestones, explain his poor start to the campaign. « They are very different, and drivers are very sensitive to change. It’s like a golfer or tennis player who has their equipment changed. When you’re at this level and trying to gain an advantage with small details, the slightest change can make a big difference. But it’s up to the driver to adapt, » explains the 34-year-old driver.

However, Mark Webber is not letting himself be discouraged and hopes to return to the front very soon. “I hope to continue my momentum of positive results and hope to secure my first victory quickly because it’s something I was doing quite often last year,” Webber told Canadian radio RDS.
