The small world of Formula One will move to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the seventh round of the World Championship. After a start to the season dominated head and shoulders by Sebastian Vettel and his Red Bull, the McLaren team could well trip up the Austrian team for the second time this season.
Indeed, the Canadian track seems particularly well-suited to Lewis Hamilton. The British driver qualified on pole there in 2007, 2008, and 2010 and won the race twice, in 2007 and 2010. Lewis Hamilton could also have won the 2008 edition of the Grand Prix if not for a collision with Kimi Räikkönen and Nico Rosberg in the pit lane. It is therefore not surprising that he is aiming for a good result again this weekend.
« I have always felt comfortable on this circuit; the track seems to suit my driving style. We have an excellent engine, the best KERS system, and excellent traction in slow corners. I will be looking for a good result on Sunday, » said Hamilton on the sidelines of the Canadian event.
After a messy race on the narrow streets of Monaco, there is no doubt that Lewis Hamilton will be eager to achieve a good result at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
