Thursday: Sutil places Force India in the top 10, di Resta learns
Adrian Sutil starts his Monaco weekend well. The German driver has often shown himself to be comfortable in the Principality and confirms it today by placing his Force India in the top 10 during both practice sessions.Paul di Resta was discovering the track at the wheel of a Formula One car and is somewhat behind. A problem with his car deprived him of some running time in the afternoon, and he was not able to run on the super-soft tires.
Adrian Sutil – 8th and 9th:
A relatively normal practice day in Monaco. We continued testing elements that we had tried in Barcelona last week and it was positive, so we will keep them for the rest of the weekend.
We did the usual work on the set-up and found a good balance by the end of the day. We ran with the super-softs in the afternoon; we had already done so during the winter, but it was the first time for a race in such hot temperatures. The grip is good but the degradation is significant.
Paul di Resta – 19th and 20th:
«It was my first time in Monaco in Formula One and I was happy with the way things went this morning. The balance was good, especially at high speed. »
« As on any street circuit, it is very bumpy here, and we have worked to make the car better over the bumps by improving the aerodynamic balance. In the afternoon, there was a problem with the car, which meant I had to pull over to the side. So, I lost an hour of track time and wasn’t able to try the super softs. »
