Thursday: Good start for Team Lotus

Jarno Trulli – 18th and 19th:

« It was good. We collected quite a lot of data during the two sessions and we can use them to put ourselves in a better position tomorrow. I had some issues with traffic during my fast stints which means we’ll definitely have a better pace tomorrow, so overall it’s a good day.

We have also been reliable in both sessions, and that is what we need to give ourselves the best chance to fight in qualifying, so I think it will be an interesting Saturday afternoon.

Heikki Kovalainen – 17th and 18th:

Not bad at all. We completed our program, worked a bit on balance, and I think with a little work tonight there’s more to come. The degradation on both types of tires was much better than many people expected and I believe the primes and options will give us interesting strategy options.

Thierry Salvi – Renault Sport F1:

It was a good day. We covered a lot of kilometers, and with the unique nature of this track, we could have traction issues, so it’s important to adjust the engine and provide something that satisfies the drivers. The feedback we have is that we seem to have found the right setup, so I think we’re ready for FP3 and qualifying.
