Throughout the season, he will collect 7 pole positions and will be the first to open Ferrari&#8217;s victory tally this season with his 2 emotional wins at Spa Francorchamps and Monza on Ferrari&#8217;s home turf.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Leclerc finishes in fourth position in the World Drivers&#8217; Championship, 24 points ahead of his talented teammate.<\/p>\n<p>After a remarkable first season with the Italian team, the Monegasque was offered a contract extension by Ferrari. As a reminder, Leclerc already had a contract extending beyond 2020. By renewing its trust in its driver, the Scuderia also decided to secure him by offering a long-term contract.<\/p>\n<p>A joyful Charles Leclerc comments on this contract extension: &#8220;I am very happy to stay with Scuderia Ferrari. During the past season, driving for the most illustrious team in Formula 1 has been a dream for me. I am eager to have an even closer relationship with the team after what has been an intense and exhilarating 2019 season. I can&#8217;t wait to see what the future holds for me and I am excited to start next season.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0As the races progressed this year, the desire to extend our contract with Charles became even more evident, and this decision means he will be with us for the next five years.
