Indeed, after 9 years of absence from the F1 calendar, Istanbul Park wanted to pull out all the stops by resurfacing the entire track. A good idea on paper, but no race took place on this brand new track before the first free practice session this morning. The result is a very slippery track, with many drivers making mistakes during the two free practice sessions.<\/p>\n
Described as an ice rink, with free practice sessions resembling more a rally than Formula 1, the track was criticized by the drivers throughout the day.<\/p>\n
We were able to see touring cars on the track this Friday evening to increase the grip of the circuit for the rest of the weekend.<\/p>\n
