Despite a rather soporific setting for this race in Portimao, we were still able to see a Lewis Hamilton at the peak of his art, showing complete mastery and dominance to take the first place in this Grand Prix. Red Bull and Verstappen finish in second place, unable to really challenge the Mercedes and Hamilton, who seemed simply superior this weekend. Finally, after his collision with George Russell in Imola, Valtteri Bottas managed to recover, as he had secured pole position on Saturday, eventually finishing on the lowest step of the podium. He still manages to score important points for the team, especially since he snatches the fastest lap in the final moments of the Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen seeing his time canceled, after setting the fastest lap<\/a> on the final lap, after going too wide at turn 14.<\/p>\n

The battle is raging for the top spot between Mercedes and Red Bull, although the German team has already taken a slight lead of 18 points over their Austrian rival. It also looks to be very tight in the midfield, as this season the mid-pack is so fiercely contested, generating a great deal of excitement to see which teams will be able to make their mark and who will struggle to keep up with the competition. McLaren and Ferrari seem to be forming a small group behind the leading pair.
