One minute before the end of this first session, Vips is leading the timing charts with a time of 1:21.523. He is ahead of the French driver Th\u00e9o Pourchaire and his ART Grand Prix team. But in the final seconds, it is Oscar Piastri who joins the battle. Under the checkered flag, the Australian driver fails to beat the time set by our French driver and takes second place in this qualifying session.<\/p>\n
At only 17 years old, Th\u00e9o Pourchaire will start from the front row in the main race on Saturday afternoon, he will start from pole position if his time (1:20.985) is not beaten in the qualifying session of group B (Explanations of the qualifying format at the end of the article).<\/p>\n

Format and rules for qualifications<\/h2>\n
In order to avoid incidents on the track, F2 drivers are divided into 2 groups and have 16 minutes to set a reference time. The driver with the fastest absolute time will start first, accompanied on the front row by the driver who achieved the best time in the other session.<\/p>\n
