The young German driver was eventually deprived of qualifications due to the too important damage on his car. On the other side, his teammate, Nikita Mazepin, makes no mistakes during the practice and qualifying sessions but does not achieve any feat either, qualifying in nineteenth position on the grid (ahead of his teammate, automatically last).<\/p>\n<p>During the race, the Haas cars are slow, very slow, not helped by the constant blue flags. They eventually finish in seventeenth and eighteenth place following the retirements of Leclerc and Bottas, more than 3 laps behind the leaders. This has been a recurring result this year and one that will have to be accepted for the rest of the season, as the American team has sacrificed the 2021 season in favor of developing the new cars for 2022. However, finishing more than 3 laps behind the leaders is almost humiliating for Haas, as they are unable to keep up with the pace of the field. The team principal, G\u00fcnther Steiner, still takes some positives from this weekend in Monaco and is looking ahead to the next races.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab It&#8217;s good to have managed to get to the end of the race with both cars intact. Mick had a small temporary power issue which we think was related to fuel pressure, and it was a shame, but he could still continue until the end at least. We did some good laps and the guys learned a lot from Monte Carlo, which is always a tough race. Unfortunately, nothing happened to give us opportunities. Once you obey a blue flag, the tire temperature drops and keeps dropping, and that&#8217;s what happened to us today.
