Since the floods that occurred this summer, the bumps on the Austin circuit have caused a lot of problems for Formula drivers and especially for MotoGP pilots.<\/p>\n
Despite the work done in recent years on the layout, it did not prevent these bumps from reforming. These have caused other problems by, for example, forcing Sebastian Vettel to retire during the 2019 edition of the United States Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
Just like last winter, the track will be resurfaced again in February to finally smooth out these harmful bumps. These works were notably triggered after the International Motorcycle Federation filed an official request recently.<\/p>\n
\u00ab We wanted a complete resurfacing but it is not possible, <\/i> declared the safety director at the Grand Prix for the FIM, on the official MotoGP website. \u00ab They will only do it where the most significant bumps have been discovered. This will go from the entry of turn 2 to turn 10.<\/p>\n
The resurfacing will therefore be partial, only half of the circuit being affected by the work. Some critical areas, such as turn 18, will however escape the works.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
