Mercedes has been dominating the other teams since 2014, having won 8 consecutive titles in the constructors’ championship. An impressive performance that was largely achieved with a silver car until 2020.<\/p>\n
But starting from the 2020 season, the six-time world champion at the time, Lewis Hamilton, had asked Mercedes if he could change the color of their livery.<\/p>\n
\u00ab It started with silver arrows. When I asked if we could make the car black last year, in terms of symbolism, and what we plan to do for the future in terms of support, I didn’t expect it to last particularly long, and we carried it into a second season, which was great. \u00bb explains Lewis Hamilton last October.<\/p>\n
According to the German newspaper Bild, Mercedes has chosen to return to its original color after two seasons in black. Hamilton appreciates this choice.<\/p>\n
“If that happens again, it will be a nice change. It doesn’t discourage us from the changes we’re making internally as we continue to actively promote diversity, even while working with all our partners,” says Hamilton.<\/p>\n
Mercedes will therefore start their 2022 season with the return of their Silver Arrows and a new pair of drivers composed of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
