After their surprising choice to bring three different compounds to Melbourne (C2, C3, and C5), Pirelli is returning to more traditional patterns for the upcoming races. For Imola (April 22-24) and Miami (May 6-8), the C2 (hard), C3 (medium), and C4 (soft) compounds are chosen, just like in Jeddah. However, for Barcelona (May 20-22), the hardest compounds in the range are selected (C1, C2, C3), as they were for the opening Grand Prix in Bahrain.<\/p>\n
This configuration will certainly offer more strategies to the teams as Bahrain has been the only Grand Prix so far where the soft tires have been used (except for the last lap in Melbourne).<\/p>\n

The teams therefore seem to be ignoring the two softest tire ranges (C4 and C5), used in qualifying but never in the race. However, they will have to deal with them in Monaco (May 27-29) as Pirelli has chosen its softest tires for the Grand Prix in the Principality (C3, C4, and C5). The characteristics of the Monaco circuit nevertheless suit these softer compounds better.<\/p>\n
