Bruno Michel, CEO of Formula 2 and Formula 3, has presented some projects concerning the future of both promotional formulas.<\/p>\n

The context:<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

The single-seaters are Dallara 2018 chassis for Formula 2 and 2019 chassis for Formula 3.<\/p>\n

The F2 cars are equipped with a 620hp M\u00e9chachrome V6 engine. Normally, the chassis have a lifespan of 3 years. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the lifespan has been extended for an additional 3 years, until the end of 2023.<\/p>\n

Projects<\/u><\/b>:<\/p>\n

Bruno Michel was interviewed during a media meeting about the future of promotional formulas.<\/p>\n

\u00ab We have several ongoing projects, it will mainly depend on the economic situation. \u00bb<\/p>\n

The goal is clearly to keep up with the pace of Formula 1, which evolves every year, without scaring away the current teams with excessive costs.<\/p>\n

By the end of 2023, the Formula 2 will be 6 years old. According to Bruno Michel, it would be time to move on to a new era for the promotion formulas.<\/p>\n

We need to find a balance between costs and evolving technology.<\/p>\n

To prepare the teams for 2024, Formula 2 is already working on it.<\/p>\n

When you want to have a new era ready for the 11 teams (which is 22 cars), we will keep you informed by the end of the year. We must already agree on the design and then choose the suppliers and work on the specifications of the car…<\/p>\n
