With an underperforming Williams, the weekend didn’t look any different for Albon. Qualifying in 16th place, just outside the top 12, after a disrupted qualifying session, a rainy start and two red flags prevented Albon from delivering a strong performance. Reflecting on his performance, he explained: “It was a complicated day mixed with a messy performance on my part as well. The conditions made it very difficult to bring the brakes up to temperature in the right window, especially with all the variations that a drying track and red flags bring. The car seemed competitive when we had fresh air and I felt competitive for points, so there are positives to take away from today. Unfortunately, towards the end of the race, I had a problem with the car that forced me to retire. I think it’s probably a weekend to forget for us, but that’s how it goes sometimes.”<\/p>\n
