With a 34-point deficit behind Charles Leclerc after three races at the beginning of the season, the Dutchman is now leading with a 9-point advantage over him. But for him, there&#8217;s no need to dwell on the gaps at this stage of the season.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab I think it doesn&#8217;t really matter where you are in the championship compared to second place,&#8221; Verstappen said. \u00ab It&#8217;s more about the performance you have in the car. If your car is good and you know you can win races, there isn&#8217;t as much pressure.<\/p>\n<p>I think that we have been in this sport for a while now and we know what we can do. At least, from my experience, it doesn&#8217;t really make a difference. I just want to have a good car because it gives you the necessary confidence to do well.<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen won the Formula 1 World Championship title in 2021, finishing eight points ahead of Hamilton after a season where the championship leader only alternated.
