Williams F1 has been sanctioned by the FIA after exceeding the deadline to submit the “full-year financial report documents”, set for March 31, 2022. This is not a breach related to exceeding the cap, but a failure in documentation regarding the year 2021.<\/p>\n
The Oxfordshire team has become the first team in history to be penalized for budgetary regulations and has been fined $25,000 (\u20ac23,392.75, Editor’s note). The team was notified of their wrongdoing on April 12th and admitted three days later to have failed in their duty. The FIA granted them until June 1st to provide the documents. Although the documents were submitted before this date, the fine was imposed in addition to the operating costs of the Cost Cap Administration (the entity that manages the budget cap in Formula 1).<\/p>\n
