It was a smiling George Russell who stepped up to the microphone with David Coulthard after the French Grand Prix. Third after a great battle towards the end of the race with Sergio Perez’s Red Bull, the British driver didn’t hide his joy.<\/p>\n
“It was a long and tough race. We had good speed, but we faced issues at the restart after the safety car, but I gave it my all against Checo [Perez]. I really wanted that third place at the checkered flag,” explains the young British driver.<\/p>\n
I suffered when Sainz overtook me, I lost an opportunity. Regarding the contact with Perez, the rule is clear, I was on the inside and he should have given me more space. But it’s a double podium for Mercedes and it’s awesome, savors Russell.<\/p>\n
