Aston Martin unveiled its new race car at its new headquarters in Silverstone, in the presence of its two drivers. While Lance Stroll is still part of the team, Spanish driver Fernando Alonso has been poached from Alpine to replace the retired Sebastian Vettel. This year, they will be driving an AMR23 with similar colors to 2022 – emerald with touches of lemon yellow – but with a noticeably different design. Gone are the protruding side pods of the AMR23, replaced by a sleeker and more aerodynamic curve. The front wing has a more aggressive style than its predecessor. The floor has also been modified to comply with regulations.<\/p>\n

The Team Principal Mike Krack himself announces that the team has made significant progress since the middle of last season. Our intention is to take a big step forward, he commented for this year 2023. In addition to their new facilities in Silverstone, the team has made some changes internally by hiring new decision-makers. The Team Principal also took the opportunity to praise the newcomer, Fernando Alonso, who greatly helps behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

On his side, Lance Stroll <\/b> hopes to be able to consistently fight for the podium this year, while the Spaniard wants the team to have a strong foundation to progress. “We may not be able to win immediately, but it’s something we want in the future,” he said.<\/p>\n

The CEO of the team, billionaire Lawrence Stroll, spoke to express his pride in working for such a historical brand. “When I am passionate, I win!” he warned, confident in his team’s abilities and the AMR23. For the third year of Aston Martin’s return to Formula 1, Lawrence Stroll acknowledges, however, that the team has all the necessary ingredients to win but lacks time. “But we will get there,” he affirmed.<\/p>\n

Small touch of humor from the show: it’s worth noting Lance Stroll’s response to a fan who asked him who his idol was when he was young: Michael Schumacher<\/b>, one of the historical rivals of… Fernando Alonso. A remark that didn’t fail to make the audience laugh.<\/p>\n
