While the possibility of having Alonso drive for the entire testing period was considered, the possibility of Stroll being unable to participate for a longer period compelled Aston Martin to have one of its reserve drivers take the wheel.<\/p>\n<p>Stoffel Vandoorne, who is also a reserve driver for the Greens this season, being unavailable due to the Formula E race in South Africa this weekend, it is only natural that the reigning Formula 2 champion has been chosen by Aston Martin.<\/p>\n<p>Drugovich will take part in the Thursday morning session before handing over his place to Alonso for the rest of the day.
