Lewis Hamilton will wear a rainbow-colored helmet at the upcoming Miami Grand Prix in response to the signing of the Parental Rights in Education Act by the Governor of Florida.<\/p>\n
The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, signed the bill at the end of March that prevents any “discussion or instruction” on “sexual orientation” or “gender identity” in schools. \u00ab I have read some of the decisions that have been made by the government here, and I do not agree with it, and I do not support it,” Hamilton told the media.<\/p>\n
These decisions are not made by the residents of Miami, but by the members of the government, and that’s the problem. I continue to support the LGBTQ community, and I will be wearing the rainbow flag on my helmet this weekend. I just want to continue supporting the community here and letting them know that I stand with them, and I hope they will continue to fight against this.<\/p>\n
