Theo Pourchaire declared that he was without a seat for the 2025 season<\/b>. For many years, the Frenchman was considered a potential Formula 1 driver<\/b>. Until the end of last year, he was a member of the Sauber academy<\/a>, although the Hinwil team did not give him the opportunity to go further.<\/p>\n

In 2023, the French driver won the Formula 2 championship, but currently finds himself in a situation where he hasn’t had a full-time position since the conclusion of his junior career.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Th\u00e9o Pourchaire made his debut in Super Formula and took part in six IndyCar races. Unfortunately, he couldn’t secure a seat in either category, as he is currently a reserve and test driver for Peugeot’s WEC Hypercar program.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old driver, who aims to make his mark in Formula E, took part in a special rookie testing session organized by Maserati in Jeddah last week.<\/p>\n

During an exchange with the press, Th\u00e9o Pourchaire acknowledged that reaching F1 is now extremely difficult<\/b>, having shifted from his desire to compete at the highest level to simply pursuing a racing program.<\/p>\n

I am sure that I will have opportunities in the future.<\/h2>\n

\u00ab To be completely honest, it’s really difficult to get there [in F1] \u00bb, said Th\u00e9o Pourchaire. \u00ab It depends on many things. It’s not just a matter of performance. On my side, I’ve done my best to try to get into F1. Now, my main goal is to find a racing program. I raced a bit last year, but most of the time, I wasn’t in a race car, I was doing nothing. Right now, I’m increasingly happy to try different race cars, to drive here [rookie test in Formula E]. Yes, I hope so. F1, I’m only 21, you never know what can happen in motorsport \u00bb<\/p>\n

One might think that Th\u00e9o Pourchaire conquered the F2 title at the wrong time. Between the end of the 2023 F1 season and the start of 2024, there were no changes to the driver lineup, except for Daniel Ricciardo. Unfortunately for the young Frenchman, for the 2025 season, there are six new full-time recruits, four of whom participated in F2 the previous season.<\/p>\n

Th\u00e9o Pourchaire himself acknowledges that the timing of his F2 title wasn’t ideal. But, I mean, if a team wanted me, they surely would have taken me, but that’s how it is, and right now, I’m just eager to try to show myself and give the best of myself each time I’m on track. He remains optimistic for the future. I’m sure I’ll have opportunities in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
