Red Bull made no modifications to their car<\/b> before the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, according to technical director Pierre Wache, who stated that the progress of other teams<\/b> throughout the season had led to a change in hierarchy.<\/p>\n

After the dominant victories of Max Verstappen in Japan and China, he was beaten by Lando Norris in Miami<\/a>, where the McLaren driver took advantage of the timing of the safety car and the numerous upgrades to the MCL38. These improvements have positioned McLaren among the leading teams and put Red Bull under greater pressure in 2024<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Accusations against Red Bull<\/h2>\n

Later in the season, the regulations regarding asymmetric braking systems were clarified and their use officially banned by new wording<\/b>. This led to accusations that Red Bull had used a similar system and suffered from this ban. However, the FIA denied these allegations.<\/b><\/p>\n

Pierre Wache confirmed that Red Bull did not need to modify its braking system and that no anomaly in the car’s settings explains any potential drop in performance. \u00ab We have not changed the car, nor the way we set it up. It seems that it is the others who have made significant changes, not us \u00bb, said Pierre Wache to Autosport.<\/p>\n

\u00ab To be honest, in Miami, we should have won the race. However, we were no longer the fastest. We were on the same level, and it is clear that something has changed, especially at McLaren. \u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab They managed to have less tire degradation than everyone else, and their package worked very well afterwards. I don’t know what they did, you’ll have to ask them. But as far as we’re concerned, the car’s behavior was similar to what we experienced in China. \u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab We had brought updates to Suzuka and China, which worked very well. In Miami, we were about at the same level, but during the race, we saw that McLaren had found the right balance in terms of performance, he explains.<\/p>\n

Asked specifically about the accusations related to asymmetric braking<\/b>, Pierre Wache reaffirmed that the car has not changed, to be clear. There was nothing fundamental in the car’s settings either that could explain why we were slower.<\/p>\n
