Felipe Drugovich has been part of the Aston Martin driver program since 2022<\/b>, the year he was crowned Formula 2 champion.<\/p>\n

Despite several test sessions with Aston Martin, the Brazilian has not yet secured a full-time F1 seat<\/b>. He was reportedly in talks with Williams in the past, before the team chose Logan Sargeant.<\/p>\n

A support role at Aston Martin<\/h2>\n

Aston Martin has confirmed that Felipe Drugovich will continue to attend races, supporting Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. This position will be shared with former McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on this announcement, Felipe Drugovich stated: \u00ab I am obviously very happy to remain with Aston Martin Aramco for a third full season as a test and reserve driver. There is a lot of momentum in this team, and I am looking forward to what we can achieve together. The incredible new facilities at the AMR Technology Campus, including the brand-new simulator, are a testament to the ambition here, and I am determined to be part of Aston Martin Aramco’s long-term success. As always, I want to thank the team for their continued support. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Mike Krack, director of track operations, added: Felipe is an essential member of our team since his arrival, and we are very happy to continue working with him. In 2025, he is a true asset. His contributions behind the scenes, particularly on the simulator and during testing sessions, have been invaluable, and he never makes mistakes behind the wheel. Felipe’s dedication and feedback have played a crucial role in our progress, and we are confident that he will continue to have a significant impact within our team. We wish him good luck for the upcoming 24 Hours of Daytona.<\/p>\n

Aston Martin’s ambitions for 2025<\/h2>\n

The 2025 season should be a transitional step for Aston Martin<\/b>, while waiting for Adrian Newey to start working on the project later this year.<\/p>\n

The team aims for 2026, where their car will be influenced by Adrian Newey and equipped with a Honda engine as a partner constructor. This means that 2025 could be a challenging year for the team based in Silverstone.<\/p>\n

Despite a fifth place in the constructors’ championship<\/b>, Aston Martin<\/a> was far from the top four teams in 2024.
