Oscar Piastri believes he has all the necessary tools to compete in the Formula 1 World Championship, but he acknowledges he now needs to use them consistently.<\/p>\n

The Australian secured his first Grand Prix victories by contributing to McLaren’s efforts, which won its first constructors’ title since 1998. However, the former F2 and F3 champion finished the season 82 points behind his teammate, Lando Norris, and 145 points behind the reigning champion, Max Verstappen.<\/p>\n

These discrepancies have raised questions about the management of team orders at McLaren.<\/p>\n

A promising season<\/h2>\n

Nevertheless, after showing a clear improvement<\/b> between his rookie season and his second year, Oscar Piastri<\/a> could well be a contender for the drivers’ title next season.<\/p>\n

When asked by AS\/MS about his chances of aiming for the title, Oscar Piastri replied: \u00ab I think so. I still have things to learn and improve. I feel like I’m reaching a stage where, on some days, I almost have all the tools I need. I’m not using them as much as I would like, and last year, I didn’t yet have all the tools I needed. I had some, but I was still missing others. \u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab This year, I think that if I don’t have them all, I certainly have many more. Whether it’s race pace, qualifying, or on-track duels, I think I’ve shown good moments in these areas, or even in several of them. Overall, I am very satisfied with my performances as a whole. \u00bb<\/p>\n

On how leading the grid affects the perception of his performances, the Australian added: “Putting everything together a little more often is what will be necessary. When you’re at the front, everything you don’t do perfectly is highlighted more than if you’re a bit further back in the pack. But I think I have all the tools necessary.
