The 2024 F1 season ended with the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA) still waiting for an official response to its request, expressed in a public letter, for its members to be treated like adults. This letter particularly criticized Mohammed Ben Sulayem and his intention to crack down on drivers’ swearing.<\/p>\n
This approach is part of a broader effort by the FIA to prevent drivers from inadvertently inciting abuse towards officials<\/b> through statements picked up by often partisan fan communities. When asked about this situation during the 2024 season finale in Abu Dhabi, George Russell, president of the GPDA, said: \u00ab I don’t really know what’s going on in his mind, but as we mentioned in our last discussion, I had said: ‘What will be the next step?
